The KAFD Skywalk Project represents a critical component of the King Abdullah Financial District’s infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and pedestrian mobility across its urban landscape. This ambitious project involves the design, engineering, fabrication, and installation of 39 skywalk bridges across the district. Project Details Start Date: 30 August 2022 Estimated Completion Date: 29 February 2024 Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Client: King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) Consultant: Parsons Architect: Design & Built Project Dimensions: Skywalks of 4-meter width with a total length of 1,006 meters. Skywalks of 6-meter width with a total length of 322 meters. Scope of Work Comprehensive Responsibilities: Complete 39 skywalk bridges, with 21 substantially completed and 18 remaining to be constructed. Coordinate with MEP utilities provisions from adjacent parcels to ensure functional service integration. Conduct defect liability assessments and provide performance guarantees for the entirety of the project. Design and Engineering Review: Systematic review and validation of all available design drawings and specifications. Data organization to identify gaps and facilitate informed decision-making for project progression. Fabrication and Supply: Advanced fabrication techniques to meet structural integrity and aesthetic requirements. Delivery of materials to ensure adherence to project timelines and specifications. Installation and Commissioning: Precise installation of skywalk structures, adhering to rigorous safety and engineering standards. Integration of MEP services to ensure seamless operation and compliance with district-wide infrastructure. Stakeholder Coordination: Collaboration with SA BAYTUR and other stakeholders to align structural and MEP requirements during installation. Continuous updates and alignment with consultants, clients, and authorities to maintain project quality and progress. Technical and Operational Objectives Ensure the safe and accurate assembly of skywalk bridges in alignment with KAFD’s architectural vision. Provide robust structural and MEP integration to support long-term usability and sustainability.
